Free Vector and Pixel Pattern – Antique Engraved

Here’s another free antique style vector pattern that you can download and use in your own designs.

Free vintage antique style repeat pattern from Patternhead.com

The elements in the pattern are from the excellent Engraved Ornaments by Jay Hilgert from Bittbox. It’s a free set of vectors with an engraved style. If you haven’t seen it yet, it’s well worth a download.

The download from Patternhead contains:

  • An Illustrator pattern (EPS file) that you can load into Adobe Illustrator (or your favorite vector editor) and edit to change the scale, colors etc.
  • A PNG thumbnail that you can use right away in your web designs or load into your Photoshop pattern library (Edit->Define Pattern)

Here’s a sample of the pattern:

Also, take a look at the free pixel patterns at Pattern8.com. You’ll find raster versions of all Patternhead’s vectors. Means you get a much smaller download if you don’t need the vector version :D

Cool, how can I use the download?

  • You can use the downloads for personal or commercial projects
  • You may not offer items created with Patternhead files for resale. That includes, but is not limited to scrapbooking, apparel, web design themes, t-shirts, business cards, greetings card, stationery, posters, flyers etc. in both physical and digital formats.
  • A link back here would be appreciated but it is not required
  • You may not sell or redistribute the downloads in any way, shape, or form
  • You may not create derivatives of the downloads for resale or distribution
  • Visit the License and usage info page for full Terms and Conditions of use

  1. This is a fine idea. When I first started collecting images for my designs, I would save the TOU’s right along side the item. I figured I could check them as I go. HA! They didn’t ever get used. Now, I only collect ‘safe’ items.

I am of the school that believes in give and take – sharing. I think this concept is fantastic and am more than happy to share some of my ‘stuff’.

Thank you for bringing this out to those of us who would like to become a part of this.
